Impact areas
Upstream empowers customers to impact their community and strengthen the wellbeing of children and young people in Aotearoa. When you make a purchase from an Upstream Supplier, the supplier donates part of their invoice to one of our Good Causes, an organisation that supports children and young people. It's a simple, sustainable way to support the next generation.
01
Youth Work
Youth work builds connections between young people and their community, and gives them the social and emotional support they need to develop critical life skills. Youth workers come alongside young people as positive role models and support them to feel confident and empowered to build a positive pathway in the world.

02
Mentoring
Positive role models make an enormous difference in the lives of young people. Mentoring matches young people with an older person who will make them feel valued and heard, help them manage some of life's challenges, or simply hang out and have fun in a safe, supportive environment.

03
Children with disabilities
For the families of children with disabilities, navigating the health system can be challenging, frustrating, and take a heavy emotional toll. Our Good Causes support children and their families by providing early intervention services and programmes, and ensuring families feel heard and supported.

04
Counselling subsidies
Counselling provides vital support for children and young people who are facing challenges in life. Unfortunately, for many families, the cost of ongoing counselling sessions means that young people aren't able to access these services. Our Good Causes provide subsidised counselling in schools and in the community, so our young people can get the support they need.

05
Youth related whānau support
Whānau play an important role in guiding young people as they grow, but often parents and caregivers can feel unsupported or lost in an ever-changing world. Our Good Causes work alongside whānau to equip them with the knowledge and practical tools to guide and support their young people.
